Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Education Services Team at West Berkshire Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to children and young people with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of Occupational Therapy needs for services and work collaboratively with children and families to meet the identified needs of individuals.
- Maintain accurate records of needs and progress.
- Negotiate the delivery of services with providers and other agencies.
- Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive care and support for children and their families.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to schools, parents, and carers to promote inclusion and enable access to learning opportunities.
- Participate in other activities that benefit from the application of OT professional skills.
- Contribute to multiagency assessments, reviews, and planning processes.
- Empower children and young people to achieve their full potential and promote independence.
Requirements:
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration.
- Experience working in a similar role, ideally within a local authority or education setting.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of legislation, policies, and standards relevant to children with disabilities and special educational needs.
- Strong assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- A positive and solution-focused approach, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
