West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Education Services Team.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
  • Experience working in a similar role, ideally within a local authority or education setting
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of legislation, policies, and standards relevant to children with disabilities and special educational needs
  • Strong assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • A positive and solution-focused approach, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

As an Occupational Therapist with West Berkshire Council, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to children and young people with disabilities.

The role involves:

  • Assessing and maintaining accurate records of needs and progress
  • Negotiating the delivery of services with providers and other agencies
  • Collaborating with other professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive care and support for children and their families
  • Providing advice, guidance, and support to schools, parents, and carers to promote inclusion and enable access to learning opportunities
  • Empowering children and young people to achieve their full potential and promote independence
