The Opportunity

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is proud to be working with an innovative and forward-thinking Council to fill the role of Asset Manager within the Property and Asset Team.

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong leader to manage and provide guidance to teams delivering high-performance services, supporting the development of policy, process, and practice in line with sector standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Housing Property and Asset Team, including managing an integrated asset management strategy, planning and undertaking programmed works, cyclical maintenance, improvements, and adaptations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an asset management strategy that meets the Council's objectives
  • Manage and maintain the Council's housing assets in good condition
  • Ensure compliance with Decent Homes standards and written standards for housing contract work
  • Provide regular KPI and performance reporting to monitor service provision and performance
  • Manage and supervise teams to deliver high-quality asset services
  • Work with contract managers to improve and modernize the housing stock
Requirements
  • Relevant professional or management qualification and/or willingness to work towards achieving a relevant level Chartered Institute of Housing qualification
  • Formal qualification in a building-related subject
  • Experience in managing multi-skilled, diverse, and remote teams to deliver high-quality asset services
  • Experience in success reporting accurate and reliable data to measure service and individual performance
  • Experience in a strategic housing role in a similar setting
  • Experience in managing complex budgets and reporting regularly against budgets
