At SAHA, we are dedicated to delivering comprehensive, high-quality housing services, support, and resettlement to our clients. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Mental Health Support Specialist who can engage creatively with our clients to identify and develop the skills and resources needed to transform their lives and enable independent living.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support to vulnerable clients through one-to-one and group sessions, working closely with external partner agencies, and developing person-centered support plans and risk management plans. You will also be required to support clients to access information on housing, health, welfare, benefits, and other resources, as well as manage any incidents or challenging behavior.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and accompany clients to attend essential appointments
- Support and advise clients to access information on housing, health, welfare, benefits, and other resources
- Support with medication, where required
- Actively engage residents in developing the service
- Help assess potential new clients
- Liaise with external agencies, including health professionals
- Help manage any incidents or challenging behavior
- Develop person-centered support plans and risk management plans
About You
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Mental Health Support Specialist who has a working knowledge of the needs and support requirements of people with complex mental health needs. You will have a strong ability to build trusting and professional relationships with clients and colleagues, and be passionate about making a difference in the lives of our clients.
The successful candidate will be a great communicator, have a high level of resilience, and be able to empower people to develop their skills, strengths, and talents. You will also have a good understanding of the type of wider community resources and organizations available, and be comfortable dealing with difficult or complex situations.
