About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Exmouth Core Adult Mental Health Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert assessment and treatment to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined and complex caseload, providing expert assessment and treatment to individuals and their families/carers.
  • Engage service users and carers in the community, developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, primary care, and other partner agencies.
  • Provide interventions and work with other disciplines/agencies/teams to support service users experiencing co-morbid problems.
  • Advocate for service users, supporting and signposting them to access employment, housing, and other resources.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • A professional mental health qualification, e.g. RMN, Social Work Degree, or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification relevant to specialism.
  • Clinical Supervision qualification.

Essential Experience

  • Substantial experience of managing a complex caseload in a community mental health setting.
  • Providing clinical supervision and delivering model-based psychological therapy.

Knowledge and Skills

  • An understanding of the NSF and Mental Health Act/ Mental Health Capacity Act requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with clients experiencing a wide range of mental health problems.
