Business Development Director

Kainos is a leading digital services provider for the healthcare sector, with a strong presence in the UK, Ireland, and North America. We are seeking a Business Development Director to join our senior team in the Healthcare sector.
The successful candidate will take a lead role in the Business Development team, operating as an individual sales contributor with responsibility for growing our customer base and delivering our business development strategy. They will generate opportunities in the healthcare sector by developing an extensive network of industry contacts, including senior figures within the national bodies of the NHS in the UK.
The ideal candidate will have experience in leading Business Development with Healthcare Sector client accounts in excess of £5m per annum, selling complex digital solutions. They will also have excellent knowledge of digital service concepts and our markets, with the ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services and position them against competitors.
The Business Development Director will work collaboratively with other members of the Business Development team as well as colleagues from other areas of the business, including delivery, commercial, marketing, and operations. They will own opportunity management from first conversation to contract and be responsible for developing sector/region specific prospect and account plans.
The successful candidate will be an expert negotiator and excel in senior stakeholder relationship management, with experience of presenting and refining proposals to achieve win/win outcomes for Kainos and our customers. They will also be able to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the customer organisation, including executive and C-level.

- Developing Kainos as a business by building and maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities across the healthcare sector.
- Providing Business Development leadership by utilising best industry practice and processes to develop sector/region specific prospect and account plans.
- Building and developing strategic partnerships by building and maintaining successful partnerships with other businesses in our ecosystem.
- Negotiating and managing senior stakeholders by being an expert negotiator and excelling in senior stakeholder relationship management.
- Working as part of a team by working closely with subject-matter experts within our Healthcare sector, colleagues from other business units, and industry partners.
- Putting people first and developing others by mentoring, coaching, and developing colleagues within the wider Healthcare Sector team.
