MERJE is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their team in a leading Building Society. As an Audit Manager, you will play a critical role in leading risk-themed audits, developing talent, and contributing to the organisation's risk management strategy.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a portfolio of risk-themed audits while balancing timescales, budgets, and resources. You will be responsible for developing internal audit capabilities, scheduling audits, and peer reviewing risk-themed audits.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute a flexible, risk-based audit plan that aligns with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  2. Supervise the delivery of assigned audits, ensuring efficient execution and high standards of quality.
  3. Build and maintain credible relationships with key stakeholders and other assurance functions.
  4. Cultivate and support colleagues' skills in internal control and risk management.
  5. Manage audit assignments within agreed budgets and timescales.

Requirements:

  • Subject matter expertise in a financial services environment with a strong background in accounting or internal audit.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven relationship management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., accounting, internal audit, or risk).

We offer a competitive estimated salary range of £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, along with opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic and challenging field.
