About the Role

NRL's Mechanical & Civil Engineering client is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join their Ilkeston Head Office. This is a full-time permanent role, and pipeline experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate Environmental activities for the company, ensuring timely achievement of targets and activities.
  • Provide support to the contracts/construction team by producing and delivering Environmental Plans, ensuring compliance with all contracts.
  • Maintain and improve the UKAS accredited ISO 14001 Environmental management systems.
  • Work closely with the management team, clients, and project stakeholders to achieve contract aims, develop processes, and implement good compliance management practices.
  • Train and develop the team regarding the Integrated Management System (IMS) and legislative requirements.
  • Manage and maintain an audit regime for statutory and environmental compliance.
  • Ensure all staff are aware of the environmental systems of work, comply with them, and have in place sufficient training.
Requirements
  • IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.
  • Experience in Pipelines and AGI's, ideally.
  • Excellent understanding of the gas and oil industry, preferable.
  • Qualification/experience of CDM 2015 Regulations.
  • Experience of operating in a complex, commercial, multi-divisional organisation.
  • Experience of ISO14001 audits.
  • Solid and up-to-date knowledge of practical environmental principles and practices, as well as environmental legislation.
  • In-depth knowledge of statutory compliance.
  • Detailed understanding of preferably all aspects of Environmental Management system.
  • Solid understanding of construction and project-related safety aspects.
  • Ability to deal with people at every level.
