Job Description

Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Officer to join our team at The Skills Coalition. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating environmental activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting sustainability within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement environmental management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to reduce environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote sustainability and reduce waste.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and industry partners.
  • Provide training and support to staff on environmental policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to reduce environmental impact.
  • Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste, and carbon emissions.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement environmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide advice and guidance on environmental matters to staff and management.

Requirements:

  • 3-10 years of experience in environmental management or a related field.
  • Excellent understanding of environmental regulations and legislation.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 audits and environmental management systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental protection.

The successful candidate will be based at our head office in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, and will be required to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
