Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Elective Booking & Scheduling Team at Stepping Hill Hospital. As a member of the team, you will play a crucial role in managing waiting lists for elective surgery and ensuring patients are treated in line with Trust Access policies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the waiting list of a group of consultants, including cross-covering and supporting other specialties as needed.
  • Monitor the waiting list and work list daily to ensure Government Access Targets are not breached.
  • Coordinate admission and associated pre-operative assessment clinics.
  • Liaise with patients, relatives, and medical representatives as the named contact point.
  • Deal with enquiries from service users in a helpful, courteous, and diplomatic manner.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with Trust policies, including Health & Safety, Infection Control, and Data Protection.
  • Provide advice to patients on admission and waiting list matters.
  • Assist in the training of new members of staff in the department.

Requirements
  • GCSE standard or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum one year experience working in a patient/customer-focused environment.
  • Awareness of Government Access targets desirable.
