Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Elective Booking & Scheduling Team at Stepping Hill Hospital. As a member of the team, you will play a crucial role in managing waiting lists for elective surgery and working in accordance with Government Access targets to ensure patients are treated in line with Trust Access policies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Take a lead role in managing the waiting list of a group of consultants, including cross-covering and supporting other specialties as required.
  • Monitor the waiting list and work list daily to ensure Government Access Targets are not breached.
  • Coordinate admission and associated pre-operative assessment clinics.
  • Liaise with patients and relatives, as well as medical representatives, as the named contact point.
  • Deal with enquiries from all service users in a helpful, courteous, and diplomatic manner.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with a range of Trust policies, including Health & Safety, Infection Control, and Data Protection.
  • Provide advice to patients in matters relating to admission and their position on the waiting list.
  • Assist in the training of new members of staff in the department, as required.
