About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Elective Booking & Scheduling Team at Stepping Hill Hospital. As a member of the team, you will play a crucial role in managing waiting lists for elective surgery and ensuring patients are treated in line with Trust Access policies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the waiting list of a group of consultants, ensuring timely and efficient processing of patient referrals.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of patient wait times, ensuring compliance with Government Access Targets.
  • Coordinate admission and pre-operative assessment clinics, ensuring smooth patient flow and minimizing delays.
  • Act as a named contact point for patients, relatives, and medical representatives, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Deal with patient enquiries in a helpful, courteous, and diplomatic manner, ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust policies, including Health & Safety, Infection Control, and Data Protection.
  • Provide advice to patients on admission procedures, pre-and post-operative guidance, and waiting list status.
  • Assist in the training of new staff members, as required.
