About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Elective Booking & Scheduling Team at Stepping Hill Hospital. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in managing waiting lists for elective surgery and ensuring patients are treated in line with Trust Access policies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the waiting list of a group of consultants, ensuring timely and efficient processing of patient referrals.
  • Monitor waiting lists and work lists daily to prevent breaches of Government Access Targets.
  • Coordinate admission and pre-operative assessment clinics, ensuring smooth patient flow and effective communication with healthcare professionals.
  • Liaise with patients, relatives, and medical representatives, providing excellent customer service and ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Deal with enquiries from service users in a helpful, courteous, and diplomatic manner.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust policies, including Health & Safety, Infection Control, and Data Protection.
  • Provide advice to patients on admission procedures and waiting list status.
  • Assist in the training of new staff members in the department, as required.
