About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Financial Wellbeing Specialist to join our team in supporting ex-offenders with financial difficulties. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments to understand the financial needs of service users, including their motivations, habits, and social capital.
  • Develop tailored action plans to address financial hardships and improve wellbeing, working closely with probation officers and other stakeholders.
  • Support service users to claim benefits, access entitlements, and manage under/overpayments, as well as obtaining necessary documentation.
  • Help service users develop online banking skills and access financial services to meet their needs.

Working Relationships

  • Establish strong relationships with service users, probation officers, and other agencies to provide holistic support.
  • Signpost service users to relevant organisations that can help with their financial needs.

Horizon Scanning and Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up-to-date with local services and opportunities that can benefit service users, demonstrating proactivity and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Share innovative ideas within the team and collaborate to enhance the service and promote social impact.

Requirements

  • A good basic education, including Maths and English GCSE, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Evidence of continual professional development.
  • Knowledge of how financial issues can impact re-offending.
  • Confidence to incorporate wellbeing strategies to promote emotional resilience and healthy coping mechanisms.
  • Desirable: risk assessment and management, knowledge of local partners/statutory agencies/associated services, awareness of Equality and Diversity, and a willingness to develop training as required.

About You
