Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Accommodation Support Specialist to join our team at South Ayrshire Council.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide housing support services to residents in temporary accommodation, working under the direction of the Team Leader (Hostels and Supported Accommodation).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a high-quality housing support service to residents, promoting independence and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes for residents.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with residents, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of accommodation services, ensuring they meet the needs of residents.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of housing support principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable individuals or groups, preferably in a social care or related setting.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary, ranging from £27,000 to £29,000 per annum, plus a 10% non-core allowance. Our hostels operate on an 8-week rolling rota, with a shift pattern that includes 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts, and 4 days off. This role is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, and as such, the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
