About the Role

The Christie NHS FT is seeking an experienced Medical Secretary/Personal Assistant to join their Haematology Oncology team. As a key member of the team, you will provide high-quality administrative support to consultants and their teams, ensuring seamless communication and efficient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive secretarial and PA support to consultants and their teams, including typing, correspondence, and data entry.
  • Manage diaries, schedules, and appointments for consultants and junior doctors.
  • Liaise with internal and external departments to arrange clinical investigations and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely input of patient data into information databases and Patient Administration System (CareFlow).
  • Coordinate new patient referrals, registration, and booking of appointments.
  • Manage outpatient clinic templates and ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Book patient appointments and take minutes for Trust and departmental meetings as required.
  • Contribute to the training of new members of staff within the team.
  • Ensure electronic case notes are up-to-date and accurate.
Requirements
  • Previous medical secretarial experience in a similar environment.
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Reliability, confidentiality, and flexibility.
