About the Role
This permanent position offers the opportunity to work as an EMDR therapist and counsellor with the MET police, supporting staff and officers to manage their mental wellbeing. You will work on a full-time or part-time basis, Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 3 days per week. Your main responsibilities will include delivering trauma interventions, managing your caseload, and providing crisis counselling based on case-by-case need. You must have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a counselling service, occupational health, or related field. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver both counselling and EMDR sessions to staff and officers
- Manage own caseload, delivering short-term counselling for clients with personal or work-related issues
- Provide crisis counselling based on case-by-case need
- Work within MPS policy and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Framework of Ethical Practice
- Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team on the use of EMDR and trauma-focused counselling

Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 EMDR training (accredited by the UK EMDR Association)
- Experience delivering EMDR therapy and trauma-focused CBT
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance and risk management
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to work autonomously
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a counselling service, occupational health, or related field
