Highly Specialized Nursing Role

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity for an experienced neurosurgical nurse to join its esteemed team as a Sister/Charge Nurse. This challenging and rewarding position requires a candidate with extensive experience in neurosurgical nursing, preferably within an inpatient ward setting, recovery, or critical care environment. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of clinical work, ensuring continuity of safe and effective care for patients, and supporting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse/Senior ODP in their absence.

Role Overview

As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Neurosciences department, managing a team of nurses, and ensuring seamless patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient care and outcomes.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure efficient service delivery.

Essential Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
  • Registered Nurse (appropriate to branch) with valid NMC registration.
  • Diploma in a health-related subject and willingness to pursue degree-level studies.
  • At least two years of experience in neurosurgical nursing.
