Job Title: Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

Job Summary:

Organon is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in Cramlington, Northumberland. As an Industrial Hygiene Professional, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to identify, assess, and evaluate solutions to control workplace health hazards and manage associated risk to health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct measurements for chemical agents, noise, vibration, thermal environment, and non-ionising radiation, and interpret results with respect to established criteria.
  • Plan and organise surveys, develop sampling strategies in accordance with established guidance and protocols.
  • Identify reasonably practicable control measures for non-complex situations.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative assessment methods for assessing exposures.
  • Ensure reports are documented and communicated to key stakeholders.
  • Evaluate risk and any need for action to prevent or reduce exposures.
  • Advise on containment solution options for exposure prevention.
  • Advise on the range of methods for exposure control.
  • Advise on appropriate selection and use of personal protective equipment.

Requirements:

  • BOHS Certificate of Competence in Occupational Hygiene or equivalent.
  • Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable relevant professional experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to identify potential Health & Safety risks.
  • Thorough understanding of local and regional legislation regarding workplace Health & Safety.
