Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership to the commercial property department, setting and achieving departmental goals, supervising, mentoring, and developing a team of solicitors, paralegals, and support staff, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, providing high-quality legal advice and support, acting as the primary point of contact for major clients, and handling complex and high-value commercial property transactions.
  • Business Development: Develop and implement strategies to grow the commercial property practice, identify and pursue new business opportunities, and represent the firm at networking events, conferences, and industry functions.
  • Legal Expertise and Practice Management: Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of commercial property law, ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism, and stay abreast of changes in legislation and practice.
  • Financial Management: Manage the department's budget, drive profitability by improving operational efficiencies, and oversee billing processes and credit control.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure the department complies with all regulatory and legal requirements, implement and maintain robust risk management practices, and handle any complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
Requirements:
  • Education: Qualified Solicitor with a current practicing certificate.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years PQE in commercial property law with significant experience in managing complex transactions and leading teams.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership and management skills, strong client relationship management and business development abilities, in-depth knowledge of commercial property law and related regulatory frameworks, excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, superior written and verbal communication skills, high level of attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
