Job Title: Shift Engineer

Welcome to Hovis Ltd, a leading bakery company with over 130 years of experience. We are seeking a skilled Shift Engineer to join our Engineering team at the Avonmouth Bristol bakery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance procedures, engineering standards, and risk assessments.
  • Perform corrective maintenance and bench overhaul activities as required.
  • Review and validate CILTs (Clean, Inspect, Lubricate, Test) generated by the autonomous maintenance team.
  • Authorise Autonomous Maintenance counter measures and initiate dynamic risk assessments.
  • Provide technical support and training to Operator Maintainers on maintenance aspects.
  • Investigate plant issues and equipment malfunctions using RCA (Route Cause Analysis).
  • Implement condition-based inspections of equipment and determine corrective action plans.
  • Participate in PPPM's and line overhauls as requested by the Shift Manager/Engineering Lead.
  • Record and register stop information into the tracking system.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience in maintenance within an automated FMCG/bakery environment.
  • Basic food hygiene qualification.
  • Gas Training.
  • 17th Edition Electrical regs.
  • Risk Assessment & Method Statement Training.
