Arena Racing Company is seeking a skilled Restaurant Bar Supervisor to join their team at the prestigious 1866 restaurant.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the team in the running of the restaurant and/or hospitality and bar areas. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing excellent customer service and serving all customers in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner at all times.
- Leading by example in all aspects of the business and supervising staff.
- Developing strong working relationships with guests and staff and driving the customer experience.
- Assisting with training and developing staff to high standards expected.
- Ensuring all orders are rung through the tills and payment obtained in line with prescribed Racecourse procedures.
- Ensuring all tills are closed down in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensuring that all temperature records are accurately kept along with other appropriate paperwork.
- Adhering to and following all licensing policies and procedures.
- Handling cash, stock, and equipment in a secure manner.
- Acting as an information point for customers.
- Recording wastage in line with venue procedures and disposing of rubbish in line with any onsite recycling initiatives.
Criteria:
The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-end food and drinks business or restaurant sector, with a high standard of written and spoken English. They will be knowledgeable in licensing, food hygiene, and health & safety theory and implementation, with experience in cash handling and billing procedures. A Personal Licence Holder is preferred but not essential. The candidate will be customer-focused, with good planning and organisational skills, and the ability to maximise sales opportunities and recommend improvements. They will be proficient in IT and work with honesty and integrity.
