Children and Young People's Support Worker Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Support Professional to join our residential service in the Cyncoed area of Cardiff. This exciting opportunity offers a passionate individual the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people between 8-18 years old with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
About the RoleAs a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will lead by example and support the management team in running the shift. You will also take greater responsibility for mentoring and supporting newer staff members, encouraging young people to develop independence.
You will be required to manage challenging behaviours when needed, safeguard children and young people from risks to their health and welfare, and provide comprehensive support to ensure their well-being. A safe environment will be maintained at all times.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading by example and supporting the management team
- Mentoring and supporting newer staff members
- Encouraging young people to develop independence
- Managing challenging behaviours
- Safeguarding children and young people
- Ensuring a safe environment
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker or in a similar healthcare or social care setting
- A Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People
- A full driving licence
