As a key member of the Pediatric Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to children and young people, leading by example and mentoring junior staff members.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity offers a challenging and rewarding experience for a Registered Children's Nurse with experience working in a paediatric emergency department. You will have the chance to enhance your skills as a Band 6 nurse, taking charge in the busy Paediatric Emergency Department on a shift basis, working long days and nights.

Main Duties

">

As a Nurse in Charge, you will provide leadership in the delivery of care to children, young people, and their families in the emergency department setting. Your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, supervising juniors, and maintaining effective channels of communication with patients, relatives, and all staff involved in providing care.

Skill and Qualification Requirements

">

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  • ">
  • a degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification;">
  • significant experience of working in an Emergency department environment;">
  • substantial post-registration experience;">
  • expertise in triage, plaster of Paris, venepuncture and cannulation, EPLS/APLS, practice supervision, and ED/HDU course;">
  • a proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and lead a team to achieve high-quality patient care outcomes.">

Estimated Salary

">

£42,000 - £62,000 per annum, depending on experience.
