SEMH Support Worker
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Support Worker to join a fantastic primary school in Cramlington. As a SEMH Support Worker, you will be working closely with children who require additional support in managing their emotions, behaviour, and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEMH needs in a primary school setting.
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to aid learning and development.
- Help create a safe and nurturing environment for students.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to implement behaviour strategies.
- Support with classroom management and ensure students stay on task.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations.
- A commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
