Job Title: Qualified Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Leader Education is recruiting a Qualified Teaching Assistant to work at a co-education secondary school provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have resilience as well as experience working alongside children or vulnerable adults with complex needs. This school has quality first teaching at the heart of everything they do, providing a broad but balanced curriculum that recognises the need for a more personalised approach.

They include therapeutic strategies alongside excellent pastoral support and care, with an overall 'Good' rating from Ofsted. The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students
  • Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification
  • A good knowledge of EHCP's
  • The ability to assist in lessons and activities
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • The ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
