About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Stewardship Analyst to join our team at State Street. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our client proxy voting policy, conducting company engagements, and representing the perspectives of our sustainability efforts in broader research and product offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Client Proxy Voting Policy

Support the development and implementation of a client proxy voting policy that aligns with our new Sustainability Stewardship Service.

Conduct Company Engagements

Support company engagements that reflect participating client views on sustainability priority topics and represent the opt-in assets.

Integrate Sustainability Research and Insights

Support the integration of broader sustainability research and insights into policy development and industry efforts.

Provide Reporting and Content

Provide reporting and related content to participating clients to ensure transparency on the activities of the service.

Build Stakeholder Relationships

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand the emerging sustainability landscape and ensure that our service is aligned with client expectations and industry best practices.

Support Head of Sustainability Stewardship

Support the Head of Sustainability Stewardship to ensure the success of the service.

Requirements
  • Experience in Asset Stewardship

5+ years of experience in asset stewardship, including company engagement.

Sustainability Knowledge

Strong understanding of sustainability-related topics, including climate risks.

Communication Skills

Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills with an engaging personality.

Interpersonal Skills

Strong interpersonal skills with comfort working independently and within a team setting.

Dynamic Environment

Ability to work in a dynamic environment, demonstrating initiative and the ability to prioritize workloads.

Relationship-Building

Highly effective relationship-building and collaborative working style with an ability to balance various stakeholders.

Detail-Oriented

Candidates must be detail-oriented.

Education

Graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. business, economics or finance) and/or CFA designation (or willingness to pursue these designations) would be beneficial.
