Overview

The role of the Sustainable Investment Analyst is to assist in executing essential sustainable investment functions within the Pensions Board, reinforcing the Board's reputation as a leader in responsible investment practices. This position will particularly emphasize climate and environmental challenges, with the analyst expected to fulfill the following key responsibilities:

The Church of England Pensions Board operates as a statutory entity, serving as the corporate trustee and administrator for multiple pension schemes, which encompass defined benefit and defined contribution plans. The investment division manages a diversified portfolio valued at approximately £3.2 billion, catering to over 41,000 members, pensioners, and beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities

The Sustainable Investment Analyst will engage in:

  • Research: Conducting in-depth analytical research on sustainable investment themes pertinent to climate and environmental issues, collaborating closely with the investment team, particularly responsible investment experts, to support the Board's stewardship strategy.
  • Engagement and Communication: Assisting in the Board's climate and environmental engagement initiatives, including thematic and company-specific analyses, and preparing communication materials.
  • Proxy Voting and Screening: Facilitating the Board's proxy voting procedures, documenting rationales for votes against management, and aiding in the reporting of voting patterns to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reporting: Monitoring and documenting the Board's stewardship activities to comply with regulations, internal standards, and various external commitments.
  • Project Management: Coordinating the planning and project management efforts of the climate and responsible investment team.
