Sustainability Stewardship Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Stewardship Analyst to join our team at State Street. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our client proxy voting policy, conducting company engagements, and representing the perspectives of our sustainability efforts in broader research and product offerings.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a client proxy voting policy aligned with our new Sustainability Stewardship Service
- Support company engagements that reflect participating client views on sustainability priority topics and represent the opt-in assets
- Integrate broader sustainability research and insights into policy development and industry efforts
- Provide reporting and related content to participating clients to ensure transparency on the activities of the service
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand the emerging sustainability landscape and ensure the service is aligned with client expectations and industry best practices
- Support the Head of Sustainability Stewardship to ensure the success of the service
- 5+ years of experience in asset stewardship, including company engagement
- Strong understanding of sustainability-related topics, including climate risks
- Proven ability to effectively navigate an increasingly complex environment
- Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills with an engaging personality
- Ability to present information in an organized and clear fashion
- Strong interpersonal skills with comfort working independently and within a team setting
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, demonstrating initiative and the ability to prioritize workloads
- Highly effective relationship-building and collaborative working style with an ability to balance various stakeholders
- Candidates must be detail-oriented
- Graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., business, economics, or finance) and/or CFA designation (or willingness to pursue these designations) would be beneficial
