About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Stewardship Analyst to join our team at State Street. As a key member of our sustainability team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our client proxy voting policy, conducting company engagements, and representing the perspectives of our sustainability efforts in broader research and product offerings.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a client proxy voting policy aligned with our Sustainability Stewardship Service
  • Conduct company engagements that reflect participating client views on sustainability priority topics and represent the opt-in assets
  • Support the integration of broader sustainability research and insights into policy development and industry efforts
  • Provide reporting and related content to participating clients to ensure transparency on the activities of the service
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand the emerging sustainability landscape and ensure the service is aligned with client expectations and industry best practices
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in asset stewardship, including company engagement
  • Strong understanding of sustainability-related topics, including climate risks
  • Proven ability to effectively navigate an increasingly complex environment
  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills with an engaging personality
  • Ability to present information in an organized and clear fashion
  • Strong interpersonal skills with comfort working independently and within a team setting
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, demonstrating initiative and the ability to prioritize workloads
  • Highly effective relationship-building and collaborative working style with an ability to balance various stakeholders
  • Candidates must be detail-oriented
  • Graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. business, economics, or finance) and/or CFA designation (or willingness to pursue these designations) would be beneficial
