Art Research Specialist

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Fine Art Researcher to join our team at Halcyon. As a leading advocate for emerging and established international artists, we have been championing exceptional talent for over 40 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provenance research: Conduct in-depth research on artworks, including attributions and bibliography.
  • Cataloguing and documentation: Maintain accurate records of artworks, clients, and loan requests.
  • Writing entries: Create comprehensive entries based on specialist research, including provenance, bibliography compilation, and illustration lists.
  • Administrative support: Provide administrative assistance to senior staff, including proofreading and fact-checking.
  • International collaboration: Liaise with experts, curators, and institutions to obtain artwork information and documents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's and Master's degree in History of Art.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in the art industry.
  • Excellent research and writing skills, with experience in cataloguing and documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
