Job Description

Halcyon is an international leader in modern art programming, with over 40 years of experience championing emerging and established artists. We are now looking to add further Researchers to our fantastic team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced researcher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth research of artworks, clients, sourcing and performing provenance checks.

The ideal candidate will be educated to at least Masters level in History of Art and possess at least 2 years of experience working in the art industry. They will be confident, able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, and have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • In-depth research of artworks, including provenance, attributions and bibliography
  • Cataloguing, documenting and updating database accordingly
  • Writing entries based on specialist research (including provenance, bibliography compilation and illustration lists)
  • Working on loan requests and publication projects
  • Proof reading and fact checking
  • Archival research
  • Providing administrative support to senior staff
  • Consulting and liaising with experts, curators and institutions internationally to obtain artwork/image/artist information and documents
