**About the Role**

James Walker & Co Ltd, a global manufacturing organisation, is seeking an experienced Design Engineering Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or Mechanical Engineering, relevant experience in an engineering position, 3D CAD experience, and a proven background in supporting the introduction of new products and special purpose machinery.

The salary for this role is approximately £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

With expertise in materials technology, precision machining, and tension control fasteners, they develop special purpose machinery and equipment for unique seal manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design equipment and take it through concept, manufacture, commissioning, and into production
  • Conduct complex CAD design, research, and introduce cutting edge technologies
  • Provide technical support and production engineering solutions to manufacturing
  • Ensure technical approval and product testing
  • Prepare health and safety risk assessments
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors
