About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community Mental Health Team for Children and Young People. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing assessment and treatment to children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental illness.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments for children and young people referred to the service, ensuring safeguarding, risk management, and care planning are implemented to the highest standard.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, working closely with children, young people, and their families to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social care and education, to coordinate care and support.
  • Facilitate group interventions and treatment sessions, working with children and young people to develop coping strategies and improve mental health.
  • Represent the service in professional forums and complex networks, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Professional qualification in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or a related discipline.
  • Registration with the relevant regulatory body (e.g., HCPC, NMC, Social Work England).
  • Experience working with children and young people with mental health needs, including those with complex emotional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
