Commodities Sales Manager, Business Development

About the Role:

As a Senior Sales Manager at ION, you will be part of the EMEA Commodities Account Management team, serving as the primary point of contact between ION and new customers. Your primary responsibility will be to create new relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within a portfolio of new accounts, driving sales of products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet/exceed annual targets for license and consulting services (between $2M-$4M annually)
  • Manage the business relationship between ION and clients to achieve new sales and services revenue goals and book the clients' current Annual Contract Value (ACV)
  • Oversee all aspects of the sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Professional Services and Corporate Sales, to create commercial proposals and supporting documentation
  • Ensure client satisfaction and deliver optimum value from ION's products
  • Assist in accuracy of invoicing and debt collection in conjunction with the sales support organization
  • Coordinate with opportunity teams, including product specialists, RFX, pre-sales consultants, and other subject matter experts

Requirements:

  • Essential:
  • Proven track record in sales, with a hunter/relationship building mentality and experience in new business development within commodities trade and risk management
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong client-facing/executive presence/influencing capability
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Previous sales experience in commodities trade and risk management
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in strategic selling methodology
  • Strong grasp of English – additional EMEA languages
  • Experience of CTRM solutions, such as Openlink, Allegro, Triple Point, Aspect, across EMEA Power, Gas, LNG, Oil, Petrochemicals, Metals, and agri/soft commodities
  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • Desirable:
  • Experience of complex cross-commodities CTRM sales cycles
  • Experience of CTRM systems with European power and gas, with bulk and liquids experience desirable
