Support Worker for Children with Learning Disabilities

We are proud to be working with a leading residential childcare provider who currently have an exciting opportunity for Residential Support Workers and Senior Support Workers to join their growing team in Herne Bay.
We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic individuals who will be responsible for providing high-quality care to assist looked-after children in reaching their full potential. There are currently day and waking night positions available.
This role focuses on supporting children with learning disabilities and challenging behavior. Previous experience related to this is beneficial, but transferable skills are also valued as comprehensive training will be provided to all successful applicants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for the basic care of children
- Assist and ensure good personal care, health care, education, and recreational activities
- Proactively support the young person's care plan
- Transport/support young people to and from school, health appointments, etc.
- Maintain a regular log and record of events, including night observations and medication checklists
- Prepare and write reports in accordance with the child's needs and organisational requirements
- Ensure professional standards in line with individual and team performance plans
Requirements:
- Genuine commitment to the welfare of looked-after children
- Previous experience of working with learning disabilities and challenging behavior is desirable
- Flexibility to work long shifts and sleep ins
- Right to Work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
Salary and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this role is £28,200 per annum, inclusive of 6 sleeps per month. Our client offers a range of benefits, including comprehensive learning and development opportunities, an employee wellbeing programme, and professional support and supervision.
