Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Birtwistles Food Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment, ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with best practice and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement maintenance plans to ensure optimal plant performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on plant and equipment, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards.
  • Manage external contractors to ensure that all work is completed to company requirements and within defined time scales.
  • Ensure that all plant and equipment are properly maintained and serviced, and that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with best practice.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that maintenance activities are aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including schedules, reports, and other relevant documentation.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
