About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Birtwistles Food Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment, ensuring that all maintenance work is carried out to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal plant performance and minimize downtime.
  • Manage and maintain all plant and equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with external contractors to ensure that all work is completed to the required standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure that all personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ensure that all engineering records are accurately maintained and presented in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with management to identify and address any engineering issues that may impact production.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including 17th Edition Electrical Standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
