About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Birtwistles Food Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities, maintaining high standards of hygiene, health, and safety, and providing technical support to our production teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal plant performance and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure all plant and equipment are in good working order.
  • Manage external contractors to ensure work is completed to company standards and within agreed timeframes.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure all relevant personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve engineering issues that impact production requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance records are kept and presented to management.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including night shifts and weekends.
