Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Scanning and Coding Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming and internal patient correspondence is stored on/in the patient's medical record and relevant information is coded.
Main Responsibilities
- Sort all incoming patient-related mail and scan/download patient-related documents onto their medical record using read codes as agreed by the clinical team.
- Add any additional information about the source of the document and forward it to the member of the clinical team who initiated the referral or who is most appropriate to receive the information.
- Identify relevant clinical information contained in patient correspondence and code or free text the clinical information onto the patient record.
- Deal with queries relating to coding and maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff, and practice business in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and Caldicott principles.
Requirements
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in use of Emis Web.
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
- Commitment to professional development.
Working Relationships
The post-holder will have regular contact with the clinical team, prescriptions team, and administration team, and will be expected to work collaboratively with these teams to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
