London, Greater London, United Kingdom Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust Full time
Join Our Perinatal Mental Health Team

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Perinatal Mental Health Team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist care and support to women and their families during the perinatal period.

About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term/secondment post, offering a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and transforming environment. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides specialist perinatal mental health care to women from preconception to two years postnatal. Our team operates Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexible working arrangements available to suit your needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver highly specialist evidence-based mental health assessments, formulations, and care planning for women in the perinatal period.
  • Provide specialist interventions, such as CBT, VIPP, and VIG, to women and their families.
  • Offer consultation, advice, and support to local maternity services and other professionals on best practice in perinatal mental health care.
  • Work jointly with care coordinators to manage a small complex caseload of pregnant women or those with an infant up to one year old.
  • Attend Child Protection and Review Conferences as necessary to safeguard children and adults at risk.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of local resources and establish excellent working relationships with statutory, voluntary, and community groups.
What We Offer
  • A dynamic and supportive team environment that promotes staff development and training opportunities.
  • A robust induction program and tailored training to support your professional growth.
  • Flexible working arrangements to achieve a healthy work-life balance.
  • Access to our Staff and Wellbeing service to ensure your physical and mental health.
  • Opportunities for career mapping and continuous professional development within the Trust.
  • A comprehensive benefit package, including childcare vouchers, health and wellbeing services, and more.
Requirements

We are looking for a clinician with a special interest in improving care for women, birthing people, and their families. Experience in perinatal mental health is not necessary, but a keen interest in this specialist area is essential. You will be a registered mental health nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality care and a commitment to continuous professional development.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse work environment that values and respects all employees. If you are a motivated and compassionate individual who is passionate about perinatal mental health care, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
