About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Foster Carer. As a Foster Carer with Break Charity, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children in care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a stable and loving home for a child in care, aged between 2-16 years old.
  • Work closely with our social workers, schools, and medical professionals to ensure the child's physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Use therapeutic parenting techniques to support the child's healing and development.
  • Uphold the National Fostering Standards and maintain a safe and healthy environment for the child.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of children in care.
  • A willingness to provide a stable and loving home environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the child and our team.
  • Non-judgmental approach and a growth mindset for continuous professional development.
  • Patience and a desire to empower each child to make the best choices for themselves.
  • Experience supporting young people is desirable.
  • Ability to commit to a long-term fostering arrangement until the child is ready to move on.
