Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom Norfolk Full time

Permanent position | 37 hours per week | Salary range: £29,269 to £31,364 per annum (Grade G) plus additional allowances for overnight stays and weekend shifts | Available throughout the county

The Outreach Service is dedicated to assisting families in distress, aiming to avert escalation of needs, mitigate risks, and prevent breakdowns in family or placement situations, thereby fostering long-term stability.

We are seeking Outreach Support Specialists to enhance our growing team. Your role will involve working closely with young individuals and their families in their residences, delivering direct assistance to avert family disintegration in a child-centered manner to achieve favorable outcomes. There may be occasions where overnight stays in the family home are necessary. A proactive, adaptable, and responsive approach to the needs of young people is essential.

Our team operates an outreach service around the clock, striving to maintain family unity during crises and facilitating the establishment of community support packages when extended assistance is required. This may include providing respite activities in the community with families or young individuals, conflict resolution, de-escalation strategies, support with household responsibilities, referrals to additional services, and fostering relationships and communication skills, alongside offering guidance, containment, and reassurance.

A valid, clean driving license and daily access to a vehicle are mandatory.

Ideally, candidates will possess experience in working with children and a solid understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable youth. Proficiency in literacy and numeracy is required, along with an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team are vital.

The position entails working evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays, and overnight stays as needed.

To apply, please download the application form and attach it to your online submission instead of a CV.

We aspire for our employees to feel inspired and motivated to collaborate effectively, optimize our work environments, maintain a healthy work-life balance, and deliver exceptional services to the community. Flexibility is integral to our operations, with hybrid working being a key aspect for numerous roles. Our advanced technology platform and equipment facilitate seamless remote connectivity and collaboration. We recommend ensuring you have reliable broadband access.
