Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Ophthalmology department, where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients of all ages.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work in general Ophthalmology clinics and specialized ophthalmic clinics, including preoperative assessment and supporting patients on the day of surgery.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in ophthalmic nursing care and development, with opportunities for further training and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care and achieve excellent outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures, ensuring best practices and patient safety.
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse (on the relevant part of the register for the post)
  • Mentoring and assessing qualification or working towards
  • Specific clinical skills appropriate to speciality or willingness to undertake
  • Ability to work as part of the multidisciplinary team
  • Up to date knowledge of professional issues
  • Understanding of current NHS issues
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written & verbal
  • Post registration clinical course appropriate to area or willingness to undertake further training relevant to the post
  • Previous experience within designated area.
  • Experience of mentoring and assessing members of the team.
  • Experience as shift team leader
