About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Ophthalmology department at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in general Ophthalmology clinics and specialized ophthalmic clinics, including preoperative assessment and supporting patients on the day of surgery.
  • Undergo in-house training to specialize in Ophthalmic Nursing care and development.
  • Complete ophthalmic competencies required to work in the department.

Our Ophthalmology department cares for patients of all ages attending a wide range of ophthalmic clinics. We have Doctor/Nurse-led clinics on all sites, and our team is committed to providing exceptional patient care and outcomes.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (on the relevant part of the register for the post).
  • Mentoring and assessing qualification or working towards.

  • Ability to work as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of professional issues.
  • Understanding of current NHS issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
