Job Overview

**Transformation Unit** is seeking a skilled Registered General Nurse to join our team in the Ophthalmology department at Furness General Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients of all ages attending ophthalmic clinics, including preoperative assessment and post-operative care.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of ophthalmic nursing care and best practices.
  • Participate in in-house training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and expertise.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (on the relevant part of the register for the post)
  • Mentoring and assessing qualification or working towards
  • Specific clinical skills appropriate to speciality or willingness to undertake
  • Ability to work as part of the multidisciplinary team
  • Up-to-date knowledge of professional issues
  • Understanding of current NHS issues
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written & verbal
  • Post-registration clinical course appropriate to area or willingness to undertake further training relevant to the post
  • Previous experience within designated area.
  • Experience of mentoring and assessing members of the team.
  • Experience as shift team leader
