Job Overview

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Ophthalmology department. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of excellent healthcare services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients of all ages attending ophthalmic clinics
  • Work in general Ophthalmology clinics and specialized ophthalmic clinics, including preoperative assessment and postoperative care
  • Develop and maintain expertise in ophthalmic nursing care and participate in in-house training programs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures
Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse with current registration on the relevant part of the register
  • Mentoring and assessing qualification or working towards
  • Specific clinical skills appropriate to the specialty or willingness to undertake further training
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
