Job Title: Band 6 Children and Young People's Community Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Band 6 Children and Young People's Community Nurse to join our esteemed Children's Community Atopy Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the expertise of our paediatric nurses in managing paediatric asthma and atopy.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the delivery of nurse-led asthma and allergy clinics, providing expert care to children and adolescents.
  2. Contribute to the monitoring, auditing, and evaluation of the cost-effectiveness and quality of services provided, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients.
  3. Develop and deliver education and training programs for staff and clients, promoting best practice in paediatric asthma and allergy care.
  4. Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team across acute, primary, and community care settings to maintain high-quality care and promote family-centred practice.
  5. Work closely with local schools, GP surgeries, and community organisations to improve children's inhaler use and ensure treatment complies with best practice.
Person Specification:
  • RN Child/RSCN - BSc/BSc(hons)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and short courses
  • Diploma in Paediatric Asthma and Diploma in Paediatric Allergy
  • Experience in paediatric respiratory and allergy care
  • Able to communicate sensitively and empathetically with children, young people, and their families and carers
Experience:
  • Experience gained through previous work with children and families in the community environment
  • Evidence of involvement in clinical audit or patient experience data collection
