Job Summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is currently recruiting for experienced Mental Health Support Workers to join our team. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide SEN (Special Educational Needs) support on a full-time basis in mainstream primary and secondary schools within the St Helens area. Your role will involve working closely with teaching staff, other support workers and external agencies to ensure that the child receives the best possible support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to children and young people who require additional help with their mental health.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, other support workers and external agencies to ensure that the child receives the best possible support.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized support plans to meet the needs of each child.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to promote positive behavior and well-being among children and young people.

Requirements

While no previous experience is necessary, any relevant experience, whether paid or voluntary, of working with children, young people or adults with learning disabilities is an advantage. You will also need to be able to work full-time from 8am to 4pm and be prepared to undergo mandatory compliance checks in line with the DfE guidelines. Hourly rates start from £12.50 PAYE, and roles can go permanent for the right candidate.
