We are looking for a Clinical Forensic Psychologist to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Clinical Forensic Psychologist in our Secure Children's Homes, providing specialist assessments and interventions to young people with complex trauma and risk issues.

The successful candidate will have a good honours degree in psychology, eligibility for British Psychological Society Chartered status, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or completion of BPS Stage 2 Forensic Psychology (or equivalent).

You will work within a multidisciplinary mental and physical healthcare team, contributing to the provision of a high-quality, specialist psychology service for young people.

The post involves working alongside other Psychology colleagues to implement and embed formulation-led, trauma-informed care throughout both SCHs, in line with the NHS England SECURE STAIRS initiative.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct specialist assessments and interventions directly with young people, their families, and carers.
  2. Work with adolescents and/or adolescent offenders, using Compassion Focused Therapy or interventions designed to work with trauma.
  3. Implement trauma-informed care, including consultation, training, supervision, and formulation.
